WHAT THEY MEANT

We did some computer stuff with other computer people and counted a bunch of numbers that sound impressive if you don't ask follow-up questions. 'Project Glasswing' is definitely not just a marketing wrapper for normal vulnerability research, and ten thousand sounds way more exciting than saying 'we found some bugs'. Collaborative initiative is corporate speak for 'we emailed some people and looked at some spreadsheets'.

REALITY CHECK

Vulnerability discovery is complex, nuanced work that typically involves methodical scanning, manual review, and careful validation. The raw number of identified vulnerabilities tells you almost nothing about actual security impact or risk mitigation. Most discovered vulnerabilities are low-severity, and the critical ones require extensive, precise remediation work.
