ORIGINAL POST"Introducing GPT-Realtime-2 in the API: our most intelligent voice model yet, bringing GPT-5-class reasoning to voice agents. Voice agents are now real-time collaborators that can listen, reason, and solve complex problems as conversations unfold. Now available in the API https://t.co/2DY1LU2vO8"View on X →
WHAT THEY MEANT

We have slightly improved a voice model, so naturally we're announcing it like we've invented artificial general intelligence. By invoking 'GPT-5-class reasoning', we mean 'can now sometimes understand context without completely hallucinating'. 'Real-time collaborators' is marketing speak for 'marginally less frustrating chatbot that might occasionally parse your actual intent'.

REALITY CHECK

Voice models are incrementally improving, which is genuinely interesting engineering work. Most actual problem-solving still requires human intervention and specific task constraints. The leap from 'improved voice interaction' to 'solving complex problems' remains a category error that would make most senior engineers quietly chuckle.
