ORIGINAL POST"The more AI can do, the more we need to ask what it should and shouldn’t do. WHAT THEY MEANT

We've invented a super complex decision tree that sounds like an ethics homework assignment, but mostly means 'try not to do obviously terrible things'. Our researcher and host are about to do a performative unpacking of our 'Model Spec', which is basically a corporate version of 'don't be evil' but with more syllables. This is basically us looking very serious and responsible while continuing to build increasingly powerful systems.

REALITY CHECK

A framework document is not the same as actual ethical implementation. Most of these behavioral guidelines are retrospective adaptations to previous system failures. The podcast will likely involve a lot of abstract language that sounds profound but reveals very little concrete detail.
